Now in its second year, the Music and Media Award will be announced as part of the 2017 Professional Development Awards and will provide a promising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music or media practitioner a grant of $12,000.

The winner of the 2015 Indigenous Music & Media Award is Marcus Corowa. Marcus is an emerging singer songwriter from far north Queensland, who draws on his Aboriginal and South Sea Islander heritage to create captivating music with elements of blues, jazz and funk. Congratulations also to our finalists - Jeffrey Zimran (of the Tjintu Desert Band) and Kahl Wallis. Marcus, Kahl & Jeffrey all tendered impressive applications amongst a very strong field of contestants.

On Saturday February 28th Hardie Grant held their book sale at 5 Westfield Street, Notthcote, with all proceeds going to the Smugglers of Light Foundation. Our sincere thanks go to Caroline Gyucha, Graeme, Alex and Jackson Leak and Hardie Grant Books for raising over $2,100 for the Smugglers! Congratulations on a wonderful effort guys.
